STORY
VozMob Immersive Space is a display design project to exhibit Vojo, a co-design project of MIT Center for Civic Media, at the OCT-LOFT Design festival 2013 in Shenzhen, China.
How to show a digital project without any exhibit in a 100+m² gallery room?
Our design mission is visually articulate the high-low tech new media design project into an expressive space from English documentations for Chinese design-concern audience.
We need to use different media to answer:
What is VozMob? Mobile Voices (VozMob) is a platform for immigrant and/or low-wage workers in Los Angeles to create stories about their lives and communities directly from cell phones. VozMob appropriates technology to create power in our communities and achieve greater participation in the digital public sphere.
What is Vojo? Vojo makes it easy for people to post stories from inexpensive mobile phones via voice calls, SMS, and MMS. It also makes it easy to set up and customize a group where people can post content from their phones.
